What is Emulsifying Wax NF? Why is it in my product?

Vegetable derived Emulsifying Wax NF is considered to be a safe main ingredient in making personal care products such as lotions and creams. It is extracted from fatty acids and ester isolation from plant oils.

Emulsifying wax is used as a medium for making skin care products. It can blend oil and water in facial creams, body lotions, moisturizers and other skin care products. The ability of emulsifying wax to blend oil and water into a fine consistency is highly valued. If you don't add any emulsifying agent to a mixture of oil and water, it will separate over time.

Are there any Side Effects?

There are no side effects in the use of products with emulsifying waxes as a main ingredient. These products are considered non toxic even when used regularly. This chemical is also considered non irritating even for people with sensitive skin.

As with any products, there may still be a small number of people who may find certain substances to be irritating to their skin and mucous membranes. If you experience any type of skin irritation or reaction when using a product, discontinue their use and consult your doctor to determine what you may use for your skin type. If you have sensitive skin, it is best to find a product that can work with your own skin type. Consider reading skin care product labels carefully before you actually begin using them.
